# Chainlink
**Chainlink** is a decentralized oracle network that connects smart contracts to real-world data. It enables Synthetix, a platform for synthetic assets, to access real-time price feeds for various assets. Chainlink's oracles retrieve data from trusted sources and securely deliver it to Synthetix's smart contracts. This ensures accurate and timely pricing information for synthetic assets, allowing users to trade with confidence.
